One of my very favorite rides at Disneyland is the ever classic Pirates of the Caribbean. Did you know it celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and was the last ride that Walt Disney himself worked on? He sadly never got to ride the ride but his magical touch is seen throughout. At the beginning of the ride is a nice cozy evening river ride through the swampy bayou complete with fire flies, banjos and frogs croaking. It's so relaxing, but the best part is you can make a reservation and eat right there in the bayou! The ambiance is wonderful as you sit at a lamp lit table, listen to the evening noises and watch the boats quietly float by. That alone would be a wonderful treat but then they top it off with some of the most amazing food! I'm talking a steak that actually melts like butter in your mouth, full on authentic jambalaya, monte cristos, refreshing mint julip and amazing deserts! This place fills up fast so be sure to make your reservations in advance.
Funnily enough, I could never figure out how you actually get into the Blue Bayou. On the ride, you suddenly see it. But how do you get into the restaurant. Someone on Tripadvisor said that its near the entrance of the ride, is the entrance to the Blue Bayou. I think I must be so pre-occupied with the ride, I completely miss it. It does look fantastic!

Kj, I LOVE Pirates of the Caribbean as well! To answer your question to get into the Blue Bayou, when you EXIT Pirates you come out into a sort of alley way between the little "pirate gift shop on the right and a wall on the left. If you turn left as soon as you leave the alley way the Blue Bayou is either the first door or the second I can't remember. But its a pretty fancy looking New Orleans style entrance with a frilly blue oval sign that says "The Blue Bayou". There is a window with a hostess standing their to look up your reservation. Hope that helps! It really is worth the search! Don't forget to make your reservations in advance though through the Disneyland App! This restaurant books very fast! You can get on a stand by list or sometimes get lucky if you go early enough in the day.
